Channeled Message: Slow Down & Appreciate

This time of year can be hectic, especially in this particular year, when there has been so much uncertainty and stress.

Right now, your soul is calling you to slow down and appreciate.

Allow yourself to disconnect from the conditioned state of hustle and hyper-productivity.

Allow yourself the time, space, and grace to simply be human.

Ground into your body.

Connect with your heart space.

Witness your human experience without judgment.

And appreciate.

  • Appreciate all that you are, and are not.
  • Appreciate those around you, and space from those who no longer serve you.
  • Appreciate the lessons and growth you have experienced this year.
  • Appreciate that you have nearly come out on the other side.
  • Appreciate the new energy coming to you now, and the magic of possibility.

It takes awareness and commitment to slow down. To allow yourself to actively stop and turn away from all the “shoulds” and “need tos.”

Slowing down is not shirking your responsibilities, it is a sacred practice of self-love and allowing yourself to be, feel, and experience.

Give this gift to yourself now, you deserve it.

Weekly Wisdom: Balance

Right now what is needed is balance, a harmony within yourself, as well as harmony with your external world.

This is a time for shifts and pivots with how you live your day to day experience.

This card can also represent that what you perceive around you may actually be a projection of something that is happening within you.

The Balance card is also a reminder of karma and fairness – take what you’ve earned and treat others with love and kindness.

Balance is also needed when you are making decisions in your life, whether emotionally, mentally, physically, or spiritually.

Be honest, caring, and responsible–be in balance–with all that you do now.

Channeled Message: Let your light shine

Sometimes you dim your light for the sake of others.

To make them more comfortable.

So you “fit in” or you’re not “too much.”

Your light is who you are, and everything else is a mask.

When you dim your light and dwell in the darkness, you cannot see the path forward.

Suppressing your light is suppressing your soul, and your soul is a gift – for yourself, and for others.

Let your light shine, and shine bright.

Let it illuminate all that you are and all that you do.

Let it be a beacon to others and a signal of hope.

For when you are bold and unapologetic in your expression of who you are, you “give permission” and inspire others to do the same.

And how beautiful your world would be, how glowing, bathed in the true, loving light of all.

Weekly Wisdom: Star Ancestors

You’re being called to think and listen with your infinite heart and soul.

There is a part of you that remembers and knows all, and this part is calling to you now.

This is your invitation to step into your ancient knowing and look a little deeper.

Feeling stuck? It’s time to shift or pivot or look through a different lens.

The answer that you seek may be right before you now, only you cannot see it until you look outside the box of your creation.

You are infinite and ancient–made of stardust–a piece of the Universal mosaic, and it is now time to tap into this essence and align with all that you are.

Channeled Message: Resist the urge to move too quickly.

There is much happening right now.

In the world around you and your personal world as well.

As we come to the close of another year, it may be tempting to quickly purge yourself of all that does not serve you and “start fresh.”

And there is wisdom in this desire to reflect, release, and restart.

However, take your time and resist the urge to move too quickly.

Sometimes we seek a change in how we feel on the inside and then disrupt our outside world to accomplish it.

That is not always the right way forward.

In the coming days, be sure to take time to sit in stillness and in silence with your most sacred self.

Sit in reflection and contemplation.

Look at all of the possible paths before you, and really feel into what is right for you right now in this moment.

Allow your heart–and your soul–to lead you now, not your small, fearful mind.

December Wisdom: Release Allegiances

It is time to focus on yourself and let go of another.

Letting go does not mean the time you have put into this dynamic was wasted, quite the contrary – it means that it is now time to up level to the next phase of your being.

It’s time to rise to higher frequencies, and doing so will allow more love, empowerment, and peace to flow into your life.

You may feel as if you need to go inward at this time, to turn off all the external noise and spend some time in stillness and in your own being.

This is encouraged.

It is time to come home to yourself and ground into your own being.

It is a time for sacred self-discovery, self-expression, and self-love.

On this journey you may realize that while some experiences and relationships build you up and help you thrive, others do not, and that it is time to let them go.

Or perhaps you are feeling called to experience something new or different – follow that pull, allow your sacred self to lead.

This is a time to stand your ground, stay aligned with your truth, and honor yourSelf.

Why I’m not using “guru” anymore

I want to take a moment to jam on something that is important to me, something I recently learned, and how it’s impacting the work I’m doing here.

This year I’ve dived into the world of social justice, anti-racism, and being a true accomplice to BIPOC, LGBTQ+ folx, and other marginalized people. (I know I’m late, and for that I’m truly sorry.)

I’m trying really hard to decolonize, both personally and in my work, from white supremacy and a lot of the gross social conditioning that is the foundation of system racism and oppression.

This means that I am constantly questioning everything, doing loads of research, and educating myself so that I can be a responsible practitioner (and human), minimize any harm I may unintentionally cause, and restore the harm and course correct when I do mess up.

The past few weeks I’ve been learning about cultural appropriation, and I’ve done a lot of research on the origins of words, internet slang, spiritual terms, as well as spiritual tools and practices in general (I’m by no means an expert, and I’m always learning).

You may have seen a few weeks ago I introduced The Asshole Guru Oracle Deck, along with weekly digital card pulls. This is a way for me to work my sense of humor into TSC so we are all having a good time.

However, I recently learned that using the term “guru” (and potentially profiting off of it when I create the real card deck) is a form of cultural appropriation, since the word  originates from Buddhism/Hinduism practices, and I am neither.

I want to apologize for this mis-step, and I promise I will strive to do better and be better.

I’ve changed the name of the deck to The Asshole Oracle Deck, and I’ve updated the graphics on my IG stories and blog.

I think part of anti-racism and social justice work is sharing it with others, as well as the things I’m learning, because we don’t know what we don’t know.

And, let’s be real, as much as we may have pure intentions, at the end of the day, it’s impact–not intentions–that matter.

Weekly Wisdom: Patience & Planning

It is a time to practice patience and release control.

It is time to stop and reflect on what is in front of you before moving forward.

Plan from a place of ease and flow, not rush and force.

Ask yourself:

What is working well for me?

What is not working well for me?

Where am I feeling resistance?

Where am I feeling ease?

Where do I need to let go of my expectations?

What do I most want to move toward?

How will I handle difficult decisions or situations as I move forward?

It is always better to be proactive than reactive, so…

Stop, reflect, plan, THEN proceed.

Weekly Wisdom: Destiny

This is a time of good luck and fortune.

It is a time of change, success, and growth.

What you have sowed, you will soon reap.

Allow yourself to fully receive what is coming to you now – you’ve earned it.

Allow yourself to believe in your own worth and value.

You deserve happiness.

You deserve abundance.

You deserve the most sacred dream that is on your heart.

Allow yourself to dwell in possibilities and take intentional action from that sacred, pure space.

Ohhh this one gave me the feeeels. The energy of this pull is so pure and affirming. Let yourself sit in that space for a moment: you are so loved and deserve allll the desires of your heart.

Rest & Rejuvenate

By now, I think it’s fair to say that 2020 has been a challenging year…one (read: me) might even say 2020 has been a dumpster fire. And they would be correct. It’s been a year filled with a lot of uncertainty, fear, and divisiveness. A year filled with a lot of loss and grief and hard work to do and organize. 2020, and life in general, can just be a lot sometimes.

This is why it’s so important to rest and rejuvenate.

We’ve been conditioned to be hyperproductive, to always be working on the next to do, hustling and grinding. Raise your hand if you ever find yourself wanting nothing more than to just do nothing, just be and relax and take some time and space, and then immediately feel guilty and ashamed that you’re “not doing anything useful or productive.”

::raises hand for all eternity::

It’s not healthy for us to always do, do do, grind, grind, grind, work, work, work. It leads to stress, anxiety, overwhelm, and burnout. It leads to dis-ease within the body, which can show up as various physical ailments (liiike totally speaking from experience here – thanks, sciatica!).

So, take some time each and every day to just rest and rejuvenate. Don’t overcomplicate this. Make it easy and something you look forward to rather than another to do you need to check off your list. Here’s a super simple practice to help:

Rest & Rejuvenate Practice

Step 1: 4x4x6 breathing.

Find a comfortable, quiet place to sit, where you won’t be interrupted. Close your eyes and inhale for a count of 4, hold for a count of 4, and exhale for a count of 6. Repeat 3 times, for a total of 4 cycles.

Step 2: Sit in stillness & rest.

Take a few moments to just sit in stillness and rest. Allow your mind to wander, and don’t focus on any one thing. If you find this difficult, focus on your (normal) breathing pattern. If you notice any tension in your body, focus your breath there.

Step 3: Fill yourself up.

Think of something that makes you happy, something that makes you feel expansive and light. Now picture that happy, expansive feeling as a white-gold light. Imagine that light slowly filling you up, starting at the crown of your head, and slowly trickling through the rest of your body. Once the light reaches your feet, focus on your entire being, now filled with love and light and vibrating high.
