Weekly Wisdom: You Got the Love

This week’s wisdom is all about love, relationships, codependency, and boundaries.

Although it is both beautiful and pure to see love in all people and situations, you must first be sure to love YOURSELF, and from there establish healthy boundaries and relationships with others.

Take inventory of your current relationships, whether romantic, platonic, work related, etc.

Where do you need to establish healthier boundaries?

Are there relationships where you find yourself being codependent and losing your sense of self?

Or perhaps you’re in a dynamic where you give more than you receive?

Maybe there’s a relationship in your life that drives anxiety and stress due to a lack of communication or consideration for each other?

It’s time to take energetic inventory of your relationships, and to reassess any dynamics that make you feel anxious, codependent, or unsafe to be yourself.

And always remember – the love you seek from others is one you can also find within yourself.

Channeled Message: Take care of yourself.

Photo by Samira Rahi on Unsplash

There is no doubt that this time is one of difficulty, fear, and pain, dear one.

If you feel as though you are spiraling in a dark abyss of fear, doubt, anxiety, and seclusion, that is okay. However you feel is valid.

Whoever you are, or are not, in this moment, is okay.

There is no “right” way to deal with this situation. It is unknown. It is unprecedented.

The most difficult lessons often are, and they are also the lessons that ultimately lead to growth and transformation.

But if you cannot look ahead to that time, or see the opportunity in this time right now, that is okay too.

The most important thing you can do right now is to take care of yourself.

However that may look:

  • Isolating to protect your sacred vessel and well-being.
  • Connecting with others in a safe way.
  • Taking a bath and washing away the fear, if only temporarily.
  • Practicing gratitude.
  • Meditation.
  • Art.
  • Spending time with your pet.
  • Doing absolutely nothing.

There is no “right” way to take care of yourself.

There is only an awareness needed, in each moment, to be able to stop, breathe, and ask yourself what you truly need right now.

And then on to the next moment…

And the next.

You can do this. You are not alone. You are held and loved – always.

How to Channel

Before we dig into how to channel, be sure to check out my previous post: What Is Channeling? to get the 411 on this practice and how it can benefit you.

Now, if you’re ready to rock and try channeling for yourself, keep reading 😉

How do you channel?

For me, channeling started as meditation. The more time and space I made for myself to disconnect from the outside world, go inward, and quiet the constant (often negative) yammering of my ego, the more I opened up my sacred channel and began to receive guidance outside of myself.

Journaling was also a huge part of honing my channeling. I used to think I could only channel through writing, but now I’m at a place where I can instantly tune in and channel and deliver messages verbally in real time.

Although my channeling skills have definitely evolved and strengthened over the years, I’ve realized that there are three keys to channeling for me:

The 3 Keys to Channeling:

1) Disconnect and cleanse. For me, this looks like retreating to a quiet, sacred space where I won’t be disturbed. Next, I cord cut to cleanse my energy, literally using my hands to karate chop at all active cords or energy leakages that may be active for me in the moment. Then I visualize emptying my mind of all thoughts by picturing all thoughts, recent conversations or interactions, or anything that is on the forefront of my mind as being sucked into a large glass bubble, kind of like a fish bowl (also this totally reminds me of using a Pensieve in Harry Potter 😉 Once I feel lighter and less activated, I toss the fish bowl behind me and out of sight to release whatever was weighing on me. From here I usually feel connected to myself on a deeper level and still. I’ve switched from focusing on the external and am not dwelling in my inner, intuitive space. Then I’m ready to…

2) Ground. I like to bring the four elements into my grounding practices. I visualize roots stemming from each of my feet and my root chakra (this is located at the base of your spine) and going down, down, down into the middle of the earth. Once there, I visualize each of the elements–earth, air, water, and fire–infusing my roots with its energy. Then I picture the combined elemental, grounding energy surging up through my roots, and back into my body. I usually do this upward energy surge four times to feel fully grounded. Then it’s time to…

3) Connect to source and spirit. My visualization on this may vary on any given day, but the constant is that I envision myself being bathed in the white-gold love and light of the Universe. I picture it washing over my body, starting at the crown of my head, and slowly flowing downwards until it’s reached my feet. I picture this source bath flowing over me, head to toe, four times.

From there my sacred channel is open and I’m ready to receive.

Disclaimer: As I mentioned, I’m now to the point where I don’t need to do this formal routine to channel, I can just flip the switch and tune in, but when I’m in the mood for a more sacred experience, I’ll do this. I also think if you’re just starting out, it helps to have a structured practice to follow until you feel confident in your skills.

Cool, I’m ready to get started!

If you want to give channeling a go, I suggest you start with the 3 Keys to Channeling above. Be sure to sit in a quiet, comfortable space, and I suggest having a journal and pen on hand.

Once you’re disconnected from the outside world, tuned in to yourself, and your channel is open, start small. Ask a question and see what you receive. It can be a direct answer, a quick vision that flashes in your mind, or maybe even a song lyric (I got a lot of song lyrics when I first started channeling). Or you may not receive anything at first, and that’s okay.

The more you commit to this practice and going inward in general, the better you’ll get at accessing your sacred channel and tapping into the divine guidance that’s always available to you.

Channeled Message: You are one.

Photo by Sarah Ardin on Unsplash

For this week’s channeled message, I specifically asked spirit for wisdom on the coronavirus, as I know it’s causing a lot of fear, panic, anxiety, and paranoia for so many of us. Here is the transmission I received…

This is a test.

It is a reminder.

And, most importantly, it is something that WILL pass.

For too long you have been divided.

There has always been, and will always be, division, war, and a struggle for power. It is inevitable with your species, which is so prone to fear and conflict.

But that does not mean you must always operate in this way. You can change. You can come together. You can rise up.

You can remember the purest form of your essence. Each of you is one and the same.

So much of the heartache and ugliness in your world is fueled by a fear of difference, yet you are all of you the SAME. You are all, at your core, a fragment of the greater power.

This virus is actually a light to shine on these shadows of division, hate, war, prejudice, and fear.

What better way to show you that you are all ONE when you all suffer from the SAME fear and threat?

What better way to show you that now, more than ever, you must seek community?

Have you noticed that since you’ve been instructed to socially isolate, you yearn for connection even more? You worry for others even more?

This is pure fear, driven by love, and yes, there is such a thing.

This virus will pass. And others will eventually be be born. And those too will pass.

What will remain? You. Your brothers and sisters. Your world – this ever growing, ever evolving community.

So now YOU must decide – how will you show up? Will it be in fear? Or will it be in love? Will you sink into the shadows, or will you rise up and shine your light?

Take note of this – how the world is responding right now fueled by fear. We wonder…how would it be different if the world responded in love instead?

What is Channeling?

Photo by Dingzeyu Li on Unsplash

I’m currently working on a new book idea that centers around spirituality and intuition, my own spiritual journey, and the work that I do here through The Sacred Channel. The first phase of this project is going back through a decade’s worth of soul journals and transcribing the channeled messages I’ve received over the years.

It’s been a mixture of surreal, nostalgic, and mind blowing to revisit the start of my spiritual journey and see how I and my gifts have evolved.

It also made me remember how clueless I was about channeling (and all the spiritual things) back then and that it could be helpful to people who are currently clueless about channeling to dive deeper into this practice and share what I’ve learned. So here goes…

What the heck is channeling?

Channeling is when you receive messages, wisdom, guidance, or support from source, spirit, or your higher self. This may sound completely cray if you’re new to this type of thing, but I swear on Chris Evans’ perfect beard that channeling is real, and I believe that it’s something that we all have access to.

Seriously – this is coming from a gal who used to think she was atheist and was afraid of religion and spirituality. Now channeling is such an innate, normal part of who I am and my daily experience.

How do you know if you’re actually channeling?

I’ll be honest – it took me a loooong time to believe that I was channeling messages from outside of myself. At first, I would just kind of scoff and convince myself I was just imagining stuff or making up thoughts in my head.

But once I got over myself, I started to realize that the feel of these messages was different. Especially back toward the beginning of my spiritual journey – I was not in a good head space. I was on the self-hate bandwagon, and much of my internal dialogue was negative and self-critical to the point of cruelty.

However, the channeled messages I would receive were always loving and gentle. They were often positive and encouraging. And as I began to get better and better at channeling, to the point that I was scribbling down paragraphs or pages worth of messages, I realized they were often in a completely different voice than my own. And there were multiple voices. And handwritings. If I flip through all of my journals, there is a multitude of different handwritings intermingled with my own script. It’s pretty cool 😉

Who or what are you channeling?

I often keep it general and say source, spirit, or your higher self. But if you wanna get into the nitty gritty of it, I’ve personally channeled:

  • My higher self & soul energy
  • My spirit guides
  • My spirit animals & totems
  • Others’ spirit guides
  • Other’s loved ones who have passed
  • Archangels
  • A few of my loved ones who have passed away

Channeling has opened my world in such a beautiful way. It’s strengthened my connection to myself, to spirit, to source, and to others! It’s always cool to channel for someone else and have the message resonate and inspire them.

Channeling, and spirituality in general, have been pivotal in my personal healing and transformation over the years, which is why I’m such a geek about sharing it with others.

Speaking of which, if you’re excited to start your own channeling journey, stay tuned for next week’s post, which will dig into how to channel.

Weekly Wisdom: Soul Retrieval

Soul retrieval aids you in recovering a part of yourself that you have lost.

You are whole and no longer fragmented.

It is time to release old wounds and move forward.

If you feel as though you have compromised in a way that is not aligned with your true self and desires, it is time to course correct.

Honor yourself and your integrity, and do not sacrifice it for the good of someone else.

The best thing you can do for others, and for the world in general, is to be who you truly are, unapologetically.

Oracle & Tarot Cards

cardsblog.jpg

I’ve been into oracle cards for a while, and have also gotten into tarot within the past couple of years. As I explore different spiritual practices and tools, it’s fun to see what truly resonates with me, and what innate skills I have.

Hint: cards is one of them 😉

So if you’re not into cards or are a newb, you may not know the difference between oracle cards vs. tarot (cause I didn’t when I first started using them lol). Here’s the gist:

Oracle cards are less structured than tarot, and the types of cards and meanings can be wide and ranging and basically up to the creator of the deck.

Tarot, on the other hand, is more structured. There’s 78 cards in a deck, and the deck is split into major arcana (think major life milestones, bigger picture) vs. minor arcana cards (think daily, everyday moments or details). The minor arcana makes up the majority of the deck, and is split into four suits: cups, pentacles, swords, and wands.

TLDR: oracle cards have prescribed meanings, and tarot needs to be interpreted.

I use both types of cards in various ways, but as I develop my daily rituals and practices, I notice that I tend to resonate more with oracle cards and use them more than tarot. I use them for weekly wisdom, monthly wisdom, and various and daily pulls and spreads whenever I feel called. I also frequently feel called to randomly pull cards for others. For example, last Monday, I was calling it Mystical Messages Monday because spirit was nudging me to pull and interpret cards for a few people.

These are my favorite oracle decks:

The Starseed Oracle Deck by Rebecca Campbell

Mystical Shaman Oracle Cards by Alberto Villoldo, Colette Baron-Reid, & Marcela Lobos

Sacred Rebels Oracle Deck by Alana Fairchild

The Good Tarot by Colette Baron-Reid

The Psychic Tarot Oracle Cards by John Holland

And this is my favorite tarot deck and tarot guide:

Golden Universal Tarot Deck and The Ultimate Guide to Tarot Card Readings by Brigit Esselmont

If you’re interested in cards, I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the decks above. What I like to do is research decks online and pick the ones that call to me. Sometimes you may get a new deck and realize you just don’t have a connection with it and you need to find something else. That happened to me when I was picking my traditional tarot deck. I went with the widely used and recommended Rider Waite tarot deck and felt NO connection to it at all. I eventually heard of the golden universal deck, and felt very drawn to it, and since getting it, it definitely works waaaay better for me.

I’d love to know if you have a favorite deck to work with, or any recommendations around decks, spreads, guidebooks, and the like. Comment below to share 🙂

Channeled Message: Rest your weary soul

You are not a machine.

You are an infinite being dwelling in a limited vessel that needs rest, rejuvenation, and boundaries.

Although your mind may constantly jump from one thing to the next, and your body may follow, always on to the next to do, always adding more responsibilities and obligations to a never-ending list…

This is not the way you are meant to live.

This is a way of DOING directed by the mind. You must seek a way of BEING fueled by your soul.

Because even your soul can grow weary.

So take some time and space for yourself. Feel into what you need most – rest? Movement? Stillness? Energetic cleansing? Solitude? Expression?
What is your heart and soul calling you to do to reinvigorate your being?

Whatever it is – do that.

– Archangel Metatron

(As I dive deeper into channeling, I am starting to identify the messengers that send me this wisdom. It’s neat to see connections between who “says” what. For instance, Metatron is said to have been the only angel who incarnated as a human, so he would have some legit insight into the limits of the human body and overextending ourselves, yeah? 😉

The Rainmaker is a master of manifestation. It speaks to the power of co-creation, especially when used with integrity.

This card is a message to create something new in your life, using what is already around you and within your day to day experience.

There are seeds that were planted in the past, and now it is time to harvest them.
